Starkville-MSU Community Band opens spring season with March 1 concert

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擳he Starkville-MSU Community Band presents its first concert of the spring season March 1.
The free, public performance takes place at 2 p.m. in 亚洲色吧视频鈥檚 Kent Sills Band Hall, 72 Hardy Road.
Band Director Johnny Folsom said the concert opens with 鈥淭he Thunderer鈥 march by John Philip Sousa, followed by Larry Daehn鈥檚 鈥淲ith Quiet Courage.鈥 Other selections include 鈥淒ouble Agent,鈥 a composition reminiscent of spies working undercover by local writer Carlos J. Kemp; 鈥淧erthshire Majesty,鈥 a Scottish work by Samuel Hazo; and concluding with Charles Carter鈥檚 鈥淥verture for Winds.鈥
MSU鈥檚 College of Education, home of the Department of Music, also includes four additional academic departments, a division of education, one research unit and numerous service units. Learn more at聽.
